Ingredients for Guava Candy Recipe
- 500 g ripe guavas
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1 tsp Crait Citric Acid
- ½ tsp black salt
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (optional)
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar for coating
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Step-by-Step Method
1. Prepare the Guavas
Wash the guavas thoroughly, peel them if desired, and cut them into small pieces. Afterwards, keep them ready for cooking.
2. Cook the Fruit
Add the guava pieces to a pan with a small amount of water and cook until they become soft and tender.
3. Blend into a Smooth Puree
Allow the cooked guavas to cool slightly and blend them into a smooth puree. Furthermore, strain the mixture if you prefer a seed-free texture.
4. Add Sugar and Lemon Juice
Transfer the puree back to the pan and add sugar and lemon juice. Meanwhile, stir continuously over low heat.
5. Add Crait Citric Acid
Mix in Crait Citric Acid thoroughly. Consequently, the Guava Candy Recipe develops its signature sweet and tangy flavor profile.
6. Add the Seasonings
Stir in black salt and chaat masala. Additionally, add red chilli powder if you prefer a spicy fruit candy variation.
7. Cook Until Thick
Continue cooking until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan. As a result, the candy sets properly after cooling.
8. Set the Candy
Spread the mixture evenly onto a greased tray and allow it to cool completely.
9. Cut into Pieces
Once firm, cut the candy into cubes, diamonds, or bite-sized squares according to your preference.
10. Coat and Store
Finally, dust the pieces lightly with powdered sugar and store them in an airtight container.
