Donuts Recipe
Donuts are one of the most popular bakery-style desserts loved worldwide for their soft texture, sweet glaze, and eye-catching decoration. Whether baked or fried, donuts become even more delicious when topped with a smooth sugar glaze or dusting. The secret finishing touch that gives donuts their bakery-style look is Icing sugar.
Crait Icing Sugar is finely powdered sugar specially designed for smooth frosting, glazing, and dessert decoration. It dissolves easily, creates a silky glaze, and gives donuts a perfect sweet finishing layer. In this recipe, we will make soft homemade donuts and decorate them using Crait Icing Sugar for a professional bakery-style result.

Ingredients for Donuts
For Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Icing sugar
- 1 tsp yeast
- 3 tbsp warm milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup water (as needed)
For Frying:
- Oil for deep frying
For Decoration:
- 1/2 cup Crait Icing Sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- Sprinkles or chocolate chips (optional)
Step-by-Step Method
1. Prepare Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt and Icing sugar. Add warm milk and water gradually to form a soft dough. Knead well for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
2. Rest the Dough
Cover the dough and let it rest for 1–2 hours until it doubles in size. This step makes donuts soft and fluffy.
3. Shape Donuts
Roll the dough and cut into round donut shapes. Let them rest again for 15–20 minutes.
4. Fry Donuts
Heat oil on medium flame. Fry donuts until golden brown on both sides. Remove and place on tissue paper to remove excess oil.
5. Prepare Crait Icing Sugar Glaze
Mix Crait Icing Sugar with a little milk to form a smooth glaze. It should be thick but spreadable.
6. Decorate Donuts
Dip warm donuts into icing glaze or drizzle it on top. You can also sprinkle powdered Crait icing sugar for a classic bakery look.
